30 Day Project-Day 6

Day 6

A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day
Jimmy.
While he is deployed.

How many wives and husbands ever have that small argument of trading places for a day, because one thinks one has it worse then the other? I know Jimmy and I do! I do not think I have it worse then Jimmy by any means, but being home with three kids by myself, I do have my days where I take it out on Jimmy and that little argument strikes up!

No one in their right mind would want to put themselves in any Service Mens shoes while their in combat, but I would, kind of. I would love to understand what my husband goes through while over there, doing what he does. I only see photos, hear horror and some good stories and the after effects, any combat wife will know what im talking about. But to actually put my feet in his boots and face the actual reality of war and what he goes through a daily basis would make me understand that much more. I hear wives all the time saying how much they understand what their husbands are going through, and all I can think is, "Are you serious?", "When have you ever done, and seen what your husband is doing or has done?"

For all you civilian wives, who are thinking I am CRAZY, have you ever woken up in your sleep with your arm being used as a "gun"? Have you ever heard your husband talking/yelling in their sleep "fighting" in a fire fight? Have you ever tripped over your husbands combat boots that stay right next to your bed, because out of habit, he leaves them there just in case something happens? I can go on for hours about things like this that Military Wives have to go through, so for that I would love to really understand it!

Jimmy has been in the Marine Corps since July 2001, he was fighting in Iraq when the Iraq War first started in 2003, and has been deployed 4 times total, with the 5th approaching. I have seen my husband on National television LIVE in a live fire fight fighting for his country, but that still does not help me understand it all. I could only imagine, and that doesn't help.
