Here goes nothing......

I know I'm terrible...I like to keep everyone on their toes, but got to keep life interesting!!

Well here it goes.....

The Smith family *might* be a civilian family SOON!!

In terms...Jimmy may be getting out of the Marine Corps!!!

We have thought about it long and hard and think we have finally decided it would be best for him to get out. We were all for him being a career Marine but times change and so does your mind!

Jimmy was never in the military because of money...we make NOTHING, our salary is so low its considered "Poverty" It has always been pride which has kept him{us} in. But for the past 2 years we have discussed when would be best for us to get out, but when was the question. He has been in the Marines sine 2001 so its been his/our life for so long. 

If he does get out it will be in the next few months!

The military is doing a drawn down and is pretty much begging for people to get out.

We will be trying to get into a program they have call "VSI" where you voluntarily get out!

There are some incentives that you get which just make it that much more of a push for us!

Thing is, we have to make up our mind before November 9th!!

Jimmy has to put a package in and pray it gets approved and they said it could be 30-60{possibly more}after it returns that we will be out!

We have decided for the moment to move back east-more then likely PA for the time being and then go from there. I really want to buy a house right away but we want to make sure they we are where we are supposed to be.

I can not begin to explain the emotions we are going through. Excited, happy, nervous, anxious, sad, terrified you name it, were experiencing it! Overall it is scary. 

But after 5 combat deployments, 12 years in he has served his dues to America. We get to walk away from this life with HIS life. That right there is most important.

My children don't have to cry anymore after family leaves because they know they will be just "up the road" and will see them very soon, rather then months to year{s} That right there is what I can't wait for. My children have never lived close to our family, ever. They miss out on all the family parties, having them there when they need them. They don't have what most children have. While this is the life their used to, its not the life I want them to continually have. I want them to have family, to be apart of it all.

So needless to say BIG CHANGES for us coming soon!!!!

Once we know for sure what is going on we will inform you all!!
