Halfway to being a Family of 7!!

Today I am 17 weeks!!!
That means we only have 20 weeks(max) until we meet these two new miracles!!
For all those who didn't see

IT'S A BOY & A GIRL!!!!!!

A little bit of whats been going on since we found out the twin news!!!

Jimmy and I decided we wanted to document every part of this pregnancy as possible. Not only because its a twin pregnancy which is AMAZING, but this is our last pregnancy!! 5 kids are more then enough for us!! So after these two arrive, this baby making factory will be out of business!!
We decided to do a "Watch US grow" plan with our local 3/4d ultrasound place. Its been amazing to see them grow!! We have been VERY lucky with the 3-4d ultrasounds because the technician and owner decided to make a Weekly Multiples Calendar. they give out the weekly calendars to all their clients but they never thought to add multiples in it or do one strictly for multiples, so we got lucky enough to go twice for photos for their calendars!! So these little bits are being used in a calendar, and we got the free photos!!
So for everyone wondering why we have so many photos, that is why!
We also get an ultrasound at every doctors appointment!!

Its such an insane difference how differently you get treated from being pregnant with one baby-compared to carrying multiples. Of course there is higher risks mothers pregnant with multiples face, but it almost makes me sad that I didn't get this much "attention" from doctors and nurses with the girls. Every pregnancy is a blessing and should be treated that way!!

At my doctors appointment last week, we sat down with the doctors and talked "delivery"
Yes its early but they like to prepare the patients and want to understand what the patient is wanting and reaching for.

They told me bottom line-37 weeks is the farthest they would let me go. I asked about pushing for 38 weeks, but with my prior pregnancies and complications they said 37 weeks will be their max.

I have always started dilating early, like anywhere from 30-32 weeks and not just 1 cm, but 3-4cm and I will keep going. They don't want to risk that. So I'm hoping I don't start dilating until I need too!!

I also have big babies so they are going to be watching the babies weights like hawks!!

And for the delivery...
My goal is to deliver naturally. I have had all three girls naturally and would love to do the same with the twins. Im sure all the moms out there that had their babies vaginally know how amazing it is to push your child out into this world and be able to love on them right then and there!! I want that this time as well!!
Its just a little tricky this time though. As long as Baby A is head down we are good to go, but baby B has to be head down or breach, can not be transverse.
They would also like Baby B to be smaller or the same size as Baby A, but like I told them, I have pushed out 9lb babies...im sure we'll be ok lol
So it will be a waiting game to see how I deliver!
And also, regardless if I have them vaginally or by a c-section, I HAVE to deliver in the Operating Room, just in case I need an emergency c-section.

I go next week for my 2nd trimester, anatomy scan!

I do have to cover something quick-
I get TONS of messages from friends, other peoples friends and family member who i don't know, asking how I conceived my twins.
I'm sorry if I sound like a total bitch but, jesus!! Really people?!!
No I did not take any sort of infertility treatments...pretty sure we conceive just fine!!
These babies are a TRUE miracle and happened naturally.

Twins occur for several different reasons-
Obviously fertility treatments

Identical Twins-Is when the mother releases her egg and the egg splits!! They are more spontantious - pretty much anyone can have identical twins, even if twins have NEVER been in your family!!

Fraternal Twins- Is when the MOTHER releases TWO eggs during ovulation!! The FATHER has NOTHING to do with you having twins.(except of course the sperm lol) The father can pass the twin gene down to his daughter but he can not case his wife to have twins. Twins have to cone from the mothers side of the family.

Twins run on my Mothers side of the family. It literally skipped a generation!! I has been A LONG time since anyone has had twins, until now!!
Twins also run on Jimmy side as well, his grandmother had a set, but they didn't survive. Those genes obviously did not make our chances greater....it just gives our daughters a higher chance of conceiving twins if he passed the twin gene down to them!

We still are not telling the babies names until they are born!
Instead of having "rhyming baby names"(blehhh)
We decided to do the same first letter of their first names!!
That letter is "K"!!

Other wise, things have been going good! I am very achy and feel like Im full term already lol but its just that my body hates me right now!!

I can not wait to meet these two and see what they look like!
Since all our girls have their own looks, its going to be amazing to see if they resemble one of their siblings or have their own looks as well!! And to be having a BOY...im really anxious to see what a lil Smitty BOY will look like!!!
